Foothill Expressway TOS/ITS Improvements

Santa Clara County Roads and Airports Department (SCCRAD) awarded a contract to DEENSCORP to provide design services (PS&E) for Foothill Expressway TOS Improvements and ITS Project from Page Mill Road in Palo Alto to Homestead Road in Los Altos. The 9-mile long project design focused on sustainable on- and off-site development, environmentally sensitive and energy savings/ efficiency in design. To accommodate the increased traffic volumes on County expressway and enhance vehicular movements by installing ITS infrastructure at all intersections within the project limit. Pedestrian accessibility was improved by installing gap sidewalk and ADA ramps. Bike lanes/routes were also installed along Foothill Expressway and at all intersection approaches to protect bike users from vehicular traffic.
